Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What is the difference between Public and Private albums?
A: Public albums are accessible to anyone you share your album URL with. Private
albums are only accessible to you (you must be logged in to view).
Q: What is the URL Alias field in the Album Details tab?
A: The URL Alias field allows you to modify the title that you share in your album's
web link (ex: http://simplealbums.com/album/demo/albumtitle/ViewAlbum.aspx).
Q: Is there a maximum number of photos per album?
A: The number of photos per album is not restricted. However, for album performance
reasons, it is recommended that you restrict your albums to 50 photos or less.
Q: What image types are currently supported?
A: Currently, the JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) standard format is the only officially supported
image type. Supported formats will be expanded upon in the future.
Q: Can I hide individual photos within an album?
A: Yes, by clicking on the photo visibility icon in the Edit Photos tab, you may
hide individual photos within a photo album.
Q: Can I change the cover image for my photo album?
A: Yes, by clicking on the cover image icon in the Edit Photos tab, you may change
your photo album's cover image.
Q: Can I modify a photo's caption once it has been uploaded to an album?
A: Yes, by clicking on the caption icon in the Edit Photos tab, a photo caption
can be added, changed or deleted.
Q: Can I rotate a photo once it has been uploaded to an album?
A: Yes, by clicking on the rotate image icon in the Edit Photos tab, individual
photos can be rotated within an album.
Q: Are my uploaded images modified in any way?
A: That depends. For the performance of the flash-based web albums, images
with dimensions (width or height) greater than 640 pixels are automatically resized.
Pro-account holders can access their original full-sized image at any time by logging
into their account or by clicking on the image link within the flash web albums
(where applicable).
Q: Will rotating my image cause a loss of quality?
A: Simple Albums utilizes a lossless JPEG rotation algorithm. However, given
the nature of the JPEG format, there are circumstances where lossless rotation is
not possible for certain images (photos uploaded from a digital camera typically
do not have this problem). For more information regarding lossy and lossless
image rotation, please refer to
this article.
